About us

Terry Alaniz and Zabdiel Collazo Perez are seniors at Kenwood High School in Clarksville, Tennessee.  They volunteer at Manna Cafe, a local ministry dedicated to distribute meals to those in need in the community.  Both young men were greatly impacted by the number of teenagers that were going without proper food and clothing, many of whom were right there in their own school.  They saw a need for a program directed specifically for teens because their needs were easily overlooked and many assume that teens can get a job and pay for things themselves. That's hard to do when you don't have transportation, suitable clothing and often times, don't have a place to call home. Personally knowing several students in this plight drove the young men into action and soTeens Helping Teens began... a grass roots group at KHS that is expanding throughout the community and beyond!

OUR MISSION

T4T hopes to impact the lives of not only students at Kenwood High School in Clarksville, TN but also to reach out to other schools, churches and organizations in our community and state. The team has talked with several schools and church groups and already other schools have signed on to starting up a similar organization at their school. In just a little over a month, there are now 4 schools in 2 counties participating!

The group is not trying to duplicate services already in place but serve as the catalyst for change and awareness and provide assistance in getting donations and help distribute them either directly to teens in need or to local organizations who already provide assistance to area families. The group has met with some amazing support from the community already and are looking forward to expanding their program to include other students and leave an ongoing legacy at their school once they graduate this year. They plan to continue working with students to keep the momentum going and keep the spirit of giving back alive and well!

The team meets with DRVN founder Michael Bell and Christian Santiago on April 6, 2016.

Staying Motivated and Staying Focused on the cause!
